Port Authority crash on my Mac

Hi,

I would to use port authority to manage my "port" softs but I can't use it because it crash on launch.

On "Console" I just have this message in "system.log" file:
"Mar  4 16:21:14 megalodon osascript[1332]: Error loading /Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types.osax/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Unit Types:  dlopen(/Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types.osax/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Unit Types, 262): no suitable image found.  Did find:\n    /Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types.osax/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Unit Types: no matching architecture in universal wrapper"

This is very stange, Port authority work fine before!

Is any help ?

Re: Port Authority crash on my Mac

See http://www.codebykevin.com/blosxom.cgi/ … 4-bit-osax for a fix. Briefly, the Adobe osax files that are referenced in that error message are causing a conflict with AppleScript, which PortAuthority uses for various functions. You'll need to update to a more recent version of the Adobe files--link at my blog.

Re: Port Authority crash on my Mac

Hi Kevin,

If we follow the workaround listed on the blog, will this affect other applications that may have a dependency on the files we are moving?

Re: Port Authority crash on my Mac

It might; it depends on how those other applications make use of the libraries you're moving. If an upgrade to the libraries is available (such as the Adobe osax files)  by all means install the update.
